PINEL - Alberta

I started the PINEL project to provide myself with an introspective look at the sounds that have helped me use music as an escape from everyday life. While continually producing my music, I took a step back from working on the PINEL project to collaborate with artists on their records.

In 2016 I started the track "Alberta" as an outlet to express a recollection of an incredibly transformative period in my life. Named for an address that I associate with a period of extreme emotional struggle, "Alberta" provides dark underlying textures juxtaposed with uplifting melodies and climactic electronic crescendos. From the organic acoustic guitar to the huge saw chord stacks, I tried to envelop the listener with tension and release to invoke a wide range of emotions.

After a three-year hiatus from the song, I decided that it was time to go ahead and put this out into the world. I hope that you enjoy "Alberta" and that it can serve as a soundtrack to some part, no matter how small, of your journey through life.
