Dave Zup - Try

Dave came to me with this song a while back. Produced by Columbus based production team The Dreamcatchers Dave draws upon funk influences and paying homage to his father’s musical background.

As Dave states…

Dayton, Ohio may not be the first location that comes to mind when one thinks about Funk music. However, Dayton musicians such as Ohio Players, Zapp and Lakeside contributed enormously to the commercial success of the genre in the 1970s. I wrote “Try” to pay homage to both my home state’s rich musical history and my father, a man who spent the 1970s and 1980s grooving on stages across the Midwest. I hope you enjoy the record!

I was, as always, honored to help Dave with recording his vocals as well as the mix and master.
