Dave Zup & BJSR - Track 8

Dave Zup and BJSR released a new song that I that song came together over the last 3 years

The song is called “Track 8 (Don’t Try This At Home)” and features a sample from my GO W/ THE FLOW live album from 2018. Dave pulled a couple seconds from the recording and spent a few years performing this new lyrical version live around Columbus with just the sample on repeat. The crowds he performed it for loved it and would be singing the hook by the end of the song. He sent a rough mix off to a super talented producer from Cleveland named The Kickdrums, who is currently living in Spain, and he offered to add some production. (A huge nod for Dave.. The guy has produced for some big time artists..) He laid down this groovy bass and drum part over a year ago and only recently got the audio files to back to him.. When Dave recycled the original recording, turning it into a whole new vibe. We recently went back in the studio to record some more layering to enhance the experience, including Tori’s vintage harmonium (look it up). While the sample and even Dave’s lyrics were created (what seems like) forever ago, it’s crazy how timely it feels.
